Center Stage Dance Academy (CSDA – www.danceatcsda.com) started out this year’s performance season at Celebration Talent Competition’s Rockford stop on February 16th and 17th. CSDA’s ENVISION Dance Company performed 29 numbers and brought the audience at the Coronado Performing Arts Center to a standing ovation on more than one occasion. The studio’s Musical Theater production number took top score on Saturday in the 12 and under division. With 19 of their 29 entries receiving high score placements and special awards, ENVISION dancers are looking forward to an exciting year!

Now in its sixth year, CSDA’s competition team has grown to 52 dancers ranging in age from 7-16. As one of the most prestigious companies in the northwest suburbs, the company performs jazz, tap, contemporary/lyrical, musical theater, modern and hip hop routines. Competing in regional and national dance competitions, ENVISION consistently earns high scores among all age groups and dance styles. Soloists have won top competition awards and been invited to dance on a national level time and time again.

“I am so proud of everyone involved –dancers, teachers, choreographers, and parents,” said CSDA’s owner and artistic director Debbie Nowotnik. “We had some first time competitors that moved up from our recreational classes this year as well as dancers that have expanded their repertoire who really showed amazing growth. Our veteran team members continue to thrive and we are looking forward to continued improvement throughout the season.”
