cathyroeCenter Stage Dance Academy’s “Office Space” Hip Hop crew takes home the big one! These hip hoppers left the judges speechless after their phenomenal performance which won them the highest points awarded during two days of intense competition. The Cathy Roe Ultimate Dance Challenge was held March 4th and 5th at the Blizzard Theater within the Elgin Community College Campus. These talented dancers range in age from 10-19 and astounded the judges and spectators with their hip hop moves, popping, facial expressions and all-around amazing performance. Not only did this team win the highest points awarded for the competition, they won a platinum award and the “Rocked My World” Judges Award.

Center Stage Dance Academy is also extremely proud of other top performances from this successful competition weekend. The musical theater duet performed by Anissa Mosquera, 14 and Tyler Nowotnik, 14 won Platinum, “Entertainment” Judges Award, Choreography Review, and both dancers were personally invited to participate in a choreographed fashion show at the Cathy Roe National Competition. Our “mini stars” continue to impress the judges! Fiona, Peighton, Madeline, and Kiera who are between the ages of 6-8 won Platinum with their “Rock Around The Clock” tap routine along with the “Precision” Judges Award. These little ones have worked so hard and have impressed so many! Overall, of the 21 Center Stage Dance Academy performances, the studio took home 10 Platinum Awards, 8 High Gold Awards, 3 Gold Awards, 7 High Point Awards, and 3 Judges Awards.

The Center Stage Dance Academy Performance Dance Team members range in age from 6 to 19. The dancers perform various dance styles including groups, solos, duets, jazz, tap, lyrical, hip hop and musical theater.
