The performance dance team of Huntley’s Center Stage Dance Academy entered the 2011 Hall of Fame dance competition with platinum feet. Twelve of their performances won Platinum Awards and many of those performances also won overall placement and special judges’ awards. The Hall of Fame dance philosophy to provide quality, stress-free, and innovative programs that challenge and reward its dancers meshes seamlessly with that of Center Stage Dance Academy which is to provide professional and high-quality dance training in a fun environment. The Hall of Fame dance competition hosted 43 studios and a total of 1,056 entries at the Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles April 15-17, 2011. Center Stage won 12 Platinum awards and 9 High Gold Awards. Various judges’ awards earned by the dancers include Showmanship Award, Two Entertainment Awards, Choreography Award, Best in Contemporary Award, and Two Fabulous Feet Awards along with 10 Overall High Point placements.
Center Stage Dance Academy is proud of all their team members, but would like to point out the special talents of the hip hop dancers in the performance entitled “Office Space”. This group of 12 hip hoppers range in age from 10-19. These dedicated performers won a 1st Place Platinum award, Showmanship Award, and once again, 1st Place Overall High Points! The group also won top scoring and high points at their Elgin competition in March 2011. Their dedication and hard work under the training of Alvin Ramirez from season 2 of MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew is what keep them wowing the judges at each of their appearances.
The Center Stage Dance Academy Performance Dance Team members range in age from 6 to19. The dancers perform various dance styles including groups, solos, duets, jazz, tap, lyrical, hip hop and musical theater.
