Center Stage Dance Academy (CSDA – www.DanceAtCSDA.com ) is growing by jetés and bounds! The Huntley studio recently expanded their space by 5,000 square feet doubling in size. The expansion that began in June 2012 and was completed in early September made room for a team locker room, private office space, additional storage space, more rest rooms, and a fourth state of the art dance studio.
Studio Director Debbie Nowotnik began her dance program in 2000 with only 20 students. As her program grew, she changed locations finally settling on Wolf Drive in Huntley in 2008. At that time, her studio was 2,500 square feet with 185 students. Today, Center Stage Dance Academy resides in 10,000 square feet of space and is a home away from home to over 370 students.
“This most recent expansion was definitely out of necessity,” said Nowotnik. “We needed additional studio space to accommodate both the quantity and variety of classes in our fall schedule. We wanted to be sure we were able to offer a variety of levels for each genre of dance in order to have room for all of our students.”
Center Stage’s class offering ranges from preschool to adult. With professionally trained and nationally recognized instructors, there is a demand for higher level classes at all ages. Center Stage Dance Academy’s competition team, Envision Dance Company, has also grown in size and skill. Growing to 53 members for this year’s season, the group intends to continue their winning streak having won high awards/placement at every level during in the 2011-2012 season.
“I love all the new space at the studio,” said 15-year old Envision dancer Trisha Fritz. “The new studio gives us so much room for our larger classes making it easier to move around and perfect more complicated choreography. The locker rooms are great too – it keeps the studio organized and gives us a space to put all of our shoes when we are there for hours!”
It’s not too late to enroll in fall recreation classes or to audition for the 2012-2013 Envision Dance Company (subject to availability). We’re always forming new classes based on student demand.
